How long does a session last?
Between 1.5 and 2 hours. Depending on what emerges emotionally, I adjust the session’s duration and intensity, but you remain the masters of your liberation; your pace is just right.
Is it always very intense?
Not all sessions are necessarily intense; they can also be very calm and gentle, which is equally valid and effective. It’s possible to have a very calm first session where little happens, and then the next could be much more intense, and vice versa. Your body knows what is right for it. I don’t force anything and respect what is right for you on the day.
In what cases should one have this type of session?
If you have experienced complicated situations that you may not want to talk about but know are impacting your life, if you feel you struggle to express yourself, let out anger, or cry. If you have chronic tensions and pains always in the same areas despite physiotherapy, osteopathy, and massage. If you suffer from digestive or sleep disorders, or if you are aware that your nervous system is deregulated.
What are the contraindications?
Somatic practices are contraindicated in the following situations:
Pregnancy, asthma, epilepsy, retinal detachment, glaucoma, uncontrolled high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, including previous heart attack; prior diagnosis by a healthcare professional of manic disorder, bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia; strokes, TIA, seizures, or other brain/neurological issues; family history of aneurysms; use of prescribed anticoagulants; hospitalization for any psychiatric issues or emotional crises in the last ten years; severe osteoporosis where intense movement could cause physical problems; previous physical injuries that are not fully healed and could be re-injured due to intense changes; any contagious disease; under medication.
